The Abled and Disabled

The disparity between so called abled and the disabled is in real sorry state. There is a huge gap in acknowledging their abilities and their specific needs. As i recently came across few people, who seem to be inspiring, challenging and competing with people and fighting for survival in this cut throat no-holds-barred-survivor-takes-it-all competetive world. Their sheer determination and will to achieve did put the fittest amongst us to shame. Their passion and motivation knows no limits.

Their mere day to day life routine dumbfounded and dented my conscience, enough that there was a radical change in how i perceive them. Maybe that's what they call an eye opener.

When they are able to do so in their everyday life, why is not due dilligence being given to them. There is a serious misgiving/misconception in this regard. In recent time across national dailies, there was an advertisement regarding a recruitment fair called employABILITY 2009, conducted by The Ability Foundation. They have been raising awareness and trying to integrate disabled people into mainstream life. The recruitment drive too which was being conducted for the past five years was a resounding success as many reputed MNC's had come for hiring this year. Their work should not go waste. When an Institution promoted by few ivididuals can bring so much change to so many lives. Just think how the impact can be with multilateral co-operation and coordination of existing government, private setups and NGO's across the length and breadth of India with the blessings of the Government of India can bring in!

As per my philosophy from my universalism^ principles, handicap or disability comes from mind and thoughts and not in any type of physical limitations. We humans, such complex beings with two hands, legs, functioning brain, eyes, ears and nose and what not have a zillion short comings when it comes to the truth or the real us. Its so queer to call others disabled because of whatever limitations when in fact we are the real disabled ones. First, we should not limit ourselves to narrow selfish thoughts, there is much much more to think and discern. For a start, like in Ayn Rands objectivism principle - the axiom of consciousness.

I'll get to the crux of the issue in next post or when i get time, its about the few people whom i came across that set the ball rolling in my head.

:)
